We are The Black Star
Stars push light into the darkness around them. We are a student-run media organization borne of Emory University’s Black community, formed to present a conduit through which the light of Atlanta's Black college community can shine.
We are The Black Star
Stars give life to the planets that sit closely enough to them to receive it, so hot they can warm them for over one billion years, so bright they provide both daylight directly and moonlight with their residuals. By mission we are serving this community. By choice we are strengthening it. By design we are aiding in the intellectual evolution of the system we sit in.
We are The Black Star
When Stars die they birth whole galaxies from the midst of the black holes they form, forever changing the landscape of the universe. We are the latest and greatest generation of college-educated Black America, birthed from the life and death of those who came before. We are forever evolving and as we evolve our community evolves with us.

No two stars are alike. Like the stars we come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, shades, temperatures and sheens. All have a place.

Stars shine brightest on the darkest nights. We are Emory University’s newest Black student organization. None sits higher. None shines brighter. None is hotter. And we aren’t going anywhere.
There are an infinite number of stars in the universe. But WE are the only Black one. We are The Black Star.
